Feather affirmation painting project

This week, the children and I  painted feathers to hang on the wall. We added our own wishes, prayers,  hopes, dreams, and quotes that remind or inspire. These paintings can then be hung on the wall, or the feathers can be cut out,  strung on a string, and hung up as a banner. We did this as an end of school project, as we close out one academic year, and start thinking about the new grade and adventures next year. Please check out Tamara Laporte web cite called Willowing Arts at https://www.willowing.org/. She does many online art classes that are fantastic and the feathers were inspired by her.

We used watercolor paper, Daniel Smith watercolor paints, and a black waterproof ink quill pen for highlighting.

Writing directly on the feather would look beautiful as well, especially if you plan to cut it out and hang as a banner with other prayer feathers.

They are beautiful hung up and it was a great project for the kids and adults. Go craft that mess and make something beautiful!
